A short piece of rope passes through a plastic frame. A spectator gets to choose where you stop the rope in the frame. The center of the frame slides sideways and seems to cut the rope into 2 pieces. At any point, the center is slid back again, and the rope is whole and undamaged - and can even be handed out for inspection!
